Proof of Work VS Proof of Stake - Words from Charles
In a previous article I outlined the environmental improvements that can be associated with the upcoming EIP1559 (London Hard Fork) implementation. I explained in very basic terms that POW is more energy intensive than POS networking. There are many arguments on whether POW or POS is better for the future for various applications. As I explained in previous articles there is a huge amount of depth to the differences and their applications, and as like many things in the crypto-sphere its easy to get confused.
After numerous live video sessions and hours of research I have found Charles Hoskinson a very well versed individual in all things blockchain! He was involved with Vitalik Buterin in the early days of Ethereum network building along side Gavin Wood (Polkadot) and now works on the Cardano blockchain. I have for a long time believed that the fundamentals of Cardano are fantastic and there ethics in general will provide a great platform for an abundance of future environmental improvement applications. I have attached a link below to a video which can be watched on youtube where he goes into depth on the headed topic should you wish to investigate and understand the principles of POW and POS.
I am again as always not going to rattle through his main talking points I would however like to touch on the Cardano ecosystem as a whole. Charles and the team plan to bring a banking platform to the 3rd world. At present people in developing countries struggle to access banks and loans in general compared to more developed countries, and in turn this means that the natural environment is much more susceptible to being exploited. The continent of Africa is under severe environmental pressures and as often found low standards of life have lead to the destruction of huge ares of natural habitat. Cardano is a project which rings close to my heart and I believe their ethics and goals work hand in hand with improving our natural environment.
Please take some time to watch the above video, however if you find it too in depth I urge you have a look at the Cardano ecosystem and their future plans. Thanks again for your time and I hope you find this information useful.
I have also created a small infographic /poster to help you understand the key points which can be found in the resources section of the website and through the below link.
