5 steps towards blockchain technology adoption within the environment sector

18/06/2021

One of the main reasons for me setting up this platform was to provide a place where people could come and make educated opinions on how blockchain technology impacts the environment. One of the key reasons that people think that this technology is bad for the environment is because they are uneducated or they do not understand. Within our governments we have a variety NGO's, environment agency's, councils and regional influences which all affect how decisions are made in society and in turn how these movements impact our environment. It is key that these people within the environment sector become more educated on the technology to provide better decision making moving forward into our future. From working in the environment sector for a number of years now, I see first hand this bias and miss-education within the sector and feel a strong need to improve this. Although no easy task we have to begin somewhere and I believe there are 5 steps which we can take to in order for better adoption of blockchain technologies within the environment sector.

Over the coming months I hope to go into detail more on each of these steps and how they are key in blockchain adoption within the sector. As you can see from the above screenshot I have made 5 steps which when completed will create a solid baseline for adoption into the future. Awareness, education, communication, funding, research and development are steps that need to be taken over the next few years so that we can make improved decisions into the future around this wonderful technology.
